Letter from the marsh manager 2023

Esteemed guests at the Swiss Two-Day March in Bern and the Remonte March in their home country.

Dear comrades

Everything has an end, and just as I announced at my 2nd election as march leader of the Swiss Two-Day March at the general meeting on December 6, 2022, I am stepping down as march leader.

With a laughing and a crying eye, as they say, I am leaving the marching committee as I have found a young successor in the person of Stabsadj Frei Peter. He had the courage to make himself available as march leader after a difficult time and to take on responsibility. I wish him every success and enjoyment in his new role.

I’m leaving with a smile on my face, as I’m sure 95% of our guests in Bern have returned home satisfied.

Thank you for your loyalty and participation in our Swiss two-day march. I hope that the marching committee will be able to welcome you again here in Bern or at the Remote March and, as I am still responsible for the marching routes, I look forward to seeing you at the new start and finish point at the military barracks in Bern on the June 1 and 2, June 2, 2024 at the Swiss Two-Day March.

We would also like to thank the authorities of the canton and city of Berne in the person of our district commander Mr. Dällenbach Max and our army represented by Div Tüscher and Colonel Hämmerli for their support. Without you, implementation would not be possible at present

Many thanks to everyone who made the Swiss Two-Day March 2023 possible and supported it with their active participation or as an official.

Riggisberg, 6.11.2023

Retired marching leader

Final message 2023

Dear friends of the Swiss Two-Day March, 1880 people have registered to take part in this two-day march on 10th and 11th June 2023. Of these, 131 people have cancelled their registration. This means that 1749 people took part in the march.
On site in Bern we were able to welcome a total of 1546 participants. Furthermore, 334 participants worldwide benefited from the virtual two-day march. The corresponding world map can be viewed here.
If you are interested, you can see some pictures of both march days and the closing in the photo gallery 2023.
We look forward to welcoming everyone and a few more again on 1st and 2nd June 2024. Next year we are also planning to organise the Swiss Two-Day March on site and virtually.

March 18, 2023 We are looking for you!

Dear friends of the Swiss two-day march,
In the last two years we have organized the two-day march as a virtual i.e. ‘remote’ march via a mobile app. In the process, we needed fewer officials. Now this year we are holding the two-day march as usual on site in Bern. To satisfy all participants, we need you to meet the organizational requirements. Please read about our needs here . Under the menu item‘About us‘ you will find the registration for officials. Thank you for your valued support.

Dear friends of the Swiss two-day march

At the end of September the general meeting of the Swiss Two Days March will take place. After that we will inform about the latest decisions.
The next Swiss Two-Day March will take place on the weekend of 10 and 11 June 2023 will take place.

March 17, 2022

Dear friends of the Swiss two-day march

We have decided to carry out the Swiss two-day march as a so-called “remote” march in 2022 as well.

Thanks to the lifting of many corona-related restrictions, we are allowed to return to normal life. This makes us almost forget that the number of corona cases is still high and is currently increasing. There is a danger that the general understanding of the risk will decrease and that we will become negligent in our dealings with our fellow human beings. Our two-day march with such a large international participation could become a corona hotspot. We don’t want to take that risk.

We look forward to your participation in the Swiss Two-Day March 28. and May 29, 2022, performed around the world.

Dear friends of the Swiss two-day march

The march 2022 takes place! The corona virus and its mutations continue to have us in their grip worldwide. The planning for our march event is underway, albeit with many question marks. On January 18, 2022, we want to make a further assessment of the situation and then decide promptly whether the regular two-day march can also take place in addition to the virtual event.
Performing a remote march a second time will certainly be easier and have fewer unexpected surprises. We will react earlier, especially when ordering the awards, so that the participants do not have to wait so long for the award.

We look forward to your participation in the Swiss Two-Day March 28. and May 29, 2022, performed all over the world, and if possible – as before – also in Bern.
